On Tuesday, Red Bull New York announced that it had completed the transfer of Argentine midfielder and previous RBNY 2 loanee Nehuen Benedetti. The former Club Estudiantes de la Plata man was signed to a four-year contract that runs through 2029 with an additional option for 2030.
Benedetti, 20, spent the 2025 season on loan from Estudiantes with RBNY 2. In 27 appearances across all competitions, he tallied 13 goals and picked up seven assists in MLS NEXT Pro play.
His 11 goals in 2025 league play are tied with Tom Barlow for second most goals in a single season in RBNY 2 history. He became the second player in club history to be named to the MLS NEXT Pro Best XI.
Benedetti joins fellow promoted players from the 2025 MLS Next Pro champions, as wingers Andy Rojas and Rafael Mosquera were offered first team contracts at the end of the 2025 MLS season.
So far, Benedetti has one appearance for the Red Bulls first team, a 24-minute cameo against CF Monterrey in the 2025 Leagues Cup, and was an unused substitute in July against the Philadelphia Union.
