2026 Major League Soccer regular season schedules were released on Thursday, Nov. 20. Let's take a look at the Red Bulls' path through next season:
The Red Bulls will begin the season on the road when they travel to Orlando City on Feb, 21. Then, New York will have its earliest home opener in club history, a Feb. 28 clash at Sports Illustrated Stadium with fellow MLS originals, the New England Revolution.
The Red Bulls will face their crosstown rival NYCFC two times in the 2026 regular season. The first will be on May 16 at Sports Illustrated Stadium, followed by a Sept. 18 meeting at Yankee Stadium.
New York's visit to the Bronx comes at the end of a daunting four-game road trip through the month of September, where it'll travel to play the Seattle Sounders, LAFC, Columbus Crew and NYCFC in a matter of 13 days.
As part of the proceedings for 2026, MLS will take a mid-season break from May 25 to July 21 during the FIFA World Cup. This interruption will serve as a dress rehearsal for the impending schedule format reallignment coming to MLS in 2027-28, with the league adopting the European August-to-May soccer calendar.
There will be some new faces making their way to Harrison, NJ this coming season, as the Red Bulls will host St. Louis City SC on Sept. 26 for their first ever matchup at Sports Illustrated Stadium. Then, New York will have a date with San Diego FC on Oct. 10, the first ever competitive meeting between the two clubs.
New York's final two home matches will be against Lionel Messi and Inter Miami on Oct. 24 and a Decision Day duel with Atlant United on Nov. 7.
Outside of MLS play, the Red Bulls will return to the US Open Cup in 2026, looking to avenge a quarterfinal elimination to Philadelphia Union in 2025. After missing the playoffs in 2025, New York will not be participating in the 2026 Leagues Cup.
This will be the final full season of MLS's spring to fall format, as the league announced that owners voted to approve a schedule change to mirror Europe's summer to spring calendar on Nov. 13.
